  • Reserva Provincial La Payunia – Malargüe, Mendoza

Day 1. Mendoza.
Reception and transfer to accommodation. Tour of Mendoza city. Free Lunch. In the afternoon, we do an excursion to a small winery in the area of Chacras de Coria with a bicycle ride among vineyards. Wine tasting. Transfers to Hotel.

Day 2. Full Day Malargüe Excursion.
We visit Los Molles Valley and La Niña Encantada Lagoon with its curious legend and beautiful landscape in the middle of the Mendoza mountain range. We will take advantage of this natural space to enjoy a picnic lunch in the open air with the water mirror at our feet. After lunch, we head to a strange formation known as “Pozo de Las Ánimas”, which keeps a chilling legend. Some local people think that you can reach the ocean diving in these giant holes through subterranean cavities. Fact or faked? You’d better see it with your own eyes. After the tour, we go to the Hotel to rest and prepare for the journey to Payunia the next day. Free Dinner.

Day 3. Payunia.
We leave Malargüe early in the morning and we head south along Route 40, until we take a detour that takes us to the Sierras de Palauco, after refueling, with its pampas and mountains that stand out in the plains. Then we descend towards “El Fortunoso”, an old oil deposit. At this point, we begin to appreciate the vulcanism that affected this area, such as lava rivers, basalt slag heaps and volcanic cones. With this first volcanic screen, we begin to enter some of the most spectacular places you can imagine “Las Pampas Negras”, “La Herradura”, “Las Bombas” and “Los Colores Mountain”. We will go up to the volcano Los Morados, where we will make a 4×4 ascent to its crater, and then a bit of trekking on these volcanic terroirs. We will surely be accompanied by guanacos, choiques and piches among others. We returnalong the path of La Pasarela, an enormous crack generated by volcanic activity. Río Grande descends from the Andes to the pampas, eroding this volcanic soil in an impressive way. Then we take Route 40 to the City of Malargüe, where we will spend the night at the Hotel Río Grande or Risco Plateado. Free dinner.

Day 4. Malargüe – Mendoza.
Breakfast and transfer to Mendoza. Free lunch. Transfers to Mendoza Airport or terminal.
